The idea to use cereal boxes hit me after I attended a graduate thesis show about containers and packaging by a student in graphic design. I was intrigued in salvaging some of that the cartons we use as a family of five and using it to create paintings but I sat on the idea for almost a year because their non-archival nature. A few months ago, I could no longer resist the idea of turning something so banal into something fragile and aesthetic. I’ve been delighted with the results so far. I found that I’m more likely to take risks with a cereal box than a stretched and primed canvas. I’ve made more paintings in the last two months than I have in years. I understand your concern and that’s why I can’t charge too much for these pieces.modernSHAPEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02489818823087402114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7615586959505851077.post-689693096699673892010-11-29T17:34:19.030-07:002010-11-29T17:34:19.030-07:00Hello-just wondering if when you paint on cereal b...Hello-just wondering if when you paint on cereal boxes you have to worry that they aren't acidfree and therefore will degrade over time?I love your work and if I buy one I would love to know that they will be around a long time.Thanks.AfromTOnoreply@blogger.com
